a non-profit site dedicated to serving the Asian online journaling
and blogging community.
Accepting Our Terms of Service
The services that Rice Bowl Journals provides to the user of this site are subject to the
following Terms of Service ("TOC") as explained in greater detail below.
Rice Bowl Journals reserves every right to update the TOS at any time without prior notification to the user.
For current members, it is advisable to check this page periodically as any changes that have been
made to this TOS.
Description of Services
Rice Bowl Journals, as an online journaling and blogging service, provides the following services to its users/members,
which are always subject to change without prior notification:
- Providing its members with a free basic web service to showcase his/her online journal
or blog.
- Providing a means for members to freely update their site profile, and to upload photos and
graphic images that comply with the rules required for uploading these files.
- Allowing visitors to surf the RBJ's directory of Asian online journalers and bloggers, either by
various category sorts, or via the search utiilities provided by the site.
- Allowing visitors and members to view and interact via the discussion board and its many
forums, polls, and other online tools.
Limitations of Personal and Non-commercial Use
Unless otherwise specified, Rice Bowl Journals' services are provided for your
personal and non-commercial use.
In addition, you may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display,
perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer,
or sell any information, software, products or services obtained from the
Rice Bowl Journals site.
Our Privacy Policy

statement directly related to the collection and use of your personal information, and the site's
database collection and retrieval procedures.
Unlawful and Prohibted Use of This Site
Users of Rice Bowl Journals agree to NOT use the site and its services for
any purpose that is unlawful and prohibited.
You may NOT use Rice Bowl Journals and its services in any manner that could damage,
disable, overburden, or impair its functionality or the network(s) and/or server(s) the site
resides on.
You may NOT attempt to gain unauthorized access to any services, other accounts, computer systems or
networks connected to any Rice Bowl Journals server or to any of its services,
through hacking, password mining or any other means. You may not obtain or
attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not
intentionally made available through the services.
Our Photo Policy
By using this site and becoming a member, you agree to upload a black and white photo of yourself
or artwork/image you have created that is representative of you, your journal and/or blog.
We strongly discourage any use of popular cartoon characters, famous celebrities, actors and actresses, pornography,
or sexually explicit images, or anything that would be considered vulgar and offensive.
And we are strongly opposed to any member misrepresenting oneself, or assuming the identity of another person,
and doing so is grounds for deletion from the directory and community.
Rice Bowl Journals reserves the right to remove any and all photos that DO NOT follow our Photo Policy.
Our Linking Policy
Your use of Rice Bowl Journals as a member of the directory requires
you to post a link on your site back to the RBJ. Your site may be deleted from the RBJ database
at any time if you haven't included a link to the Rice Bowl Journals site.
For now we will simply utilize the honor system, and leave it up to the individual to be responsible and fair in providing
a link back to Rice Bowl Journals. But we may periodically check for RBJ links on members' journals and blogs, and
we reserve the right to delete any member's journal/blog that doesn't comply with this requirement.
As always, we are most grateful to those members who faithfully maintained linkage to the
Rice Bowl Journals project.
TOC Updates and Changes
Rice Bowl Journals' TOS will continue to be updated and revised in the coming months, and users are advised to
refer and review to this page periodically for any changes that will be made.
