The experience was both painful and emotionally fulfilling. Kenneth committed suicide last year. Orchids were his favorite flowers (specifically, white orchids, but multiple sources --- including the artist who did my tattoo --- told me that tattoos with large areas of pure white ink are a bad idea since apparent discoloration is pretty much inevitable).
